Here are the facts:
- Carrie Rahfaldt always supports exceptions for rape, incest, life of the mother and fetal abnormalities that make life outside the womb impossible. She will never support legislation that interferes with that.
- Carrie Rahfaldt knows that nothing should ever compromise a woman’s ability to receive care for ectopic pregnancies or other difficult health situations.
- Carrie Rahfaldt has never advocated or supported a complete ban on abortion.
- Carrie Rahfaldt believes that significant common ground exists on limiting late-term and taxpayer-funded abortion, parental consent, and maintaining safe standards that protect women. We need to find common ground on the issue and build consensus.

The Kansas Supreme Court ruled in 2019 that the Kansas Constitution includes a right to abortion. The voters also were given the chance to weigh in on the issue at the ballot box in August. Carrie Rahfaldt respects their decision.
Despite that, hyper-partisan candidates will say anything to get elected and are spending thousands of special-interest dollars lying about Carrie Rahfaldt’s views.
The truth is abortion is an important and complex topic involving the lives of real people facing oftentimes incredibly difficult situations. It should be approached with compassion and thoughtful discussion and not turned into a political game.
